General purpose for School of Global Studies
Global Studies is a multi-disciplinary program helping our students to understand and analyze how the world is changing. Global Studies emphasizes on global issues such as climate change, international migration, conflict and, violence, social justice, modern slavery, global cultures, and religions. In order to understand the complexity of globalization, it combines various disciplines such as sociology, anthropology, economics, political science and world history. Foundation Academy of Amsterdam offers Diploma, Academic Diploma and Advanced Academic Diploma of Global Studies, which are fully accredited by International Council for Higher Education.
The School of Global Studies aims to inspire, motivate, and train students to participate in advocating justice, and human rights and in dealing with the complex structures of globalization. The School of Global Studies is designed to:

Academic Diploma in Global Studies
Diploma in Global Studies (DGS) is a 30 - 35 ECTS program, focusing on the basics of social sciences, such as sociology, cultural anthropology, and globalization. The goal of Diploma program in Global Studies is to offer the student a basic foundation for social sciences in the field of global studies. The student will learn various aspects of globalization in sociological, anthropological and political perspective, including economy.
Academic Diploma in Global Studies
Academic Diploma in Global Studies (ADGS) is a 183 ECTS program, focusing on the basics of social sciences, such as sociology, cultural anthropology, politics, concepts of globalization, world history, globalization of religion, and demography and methodology of research. ADGS is more or less in the same level and quality of a BA program at a regular university, elsewhere. The goal of the ADGS program in Global Studies is to create awareness of the complexity of globalization in policy-making, north-south discussions, and international relations today. Advanced Academic Diploma in Global Studies
Advanced Academic Diploma program in Global Studies (AADGS) is between 90 - 120 ECTS program to further specialization from Academic Diploma in Global Studies. Global poverty, environmental studies, and gender studies in a global and biblical context, terrorism are all being offered in the AAD program. Entire units are dedicated to the history of slavery, the contemporary slave trade, human rights, understanding terrorism, and the Israeli and Palestinian conflict. ADGS is more or less in the same level and quality of an MA program at a regular university, elsewhere. The goal of the AAD program in Global Studies is to prepare the student to participate in various areas of society, such as the educational, governmental, religious, and commercial sectors by offering the knowledge and services that are acquired during their education.
